The Berlin Championship was a German ice hockey competition for teams in Berlin from 1909 to 1912.
The inaugural tournament was played from January 16-18, 1910 at the Berliner Eispalast. Comprised of 10 teams, Berliner SC won the championship by defeating Berliner FC Preussen in the final.
The second edition was held between November 13 and December 16, 1910 at the Berliner Eispalast. Berliner FC Preussen defeated Berliner SC 2-1 in the final, amid some controversy. The referee, who generally served as a football official and was a hockey novice, disallowed a goal scored by Berliner SC, reversing his previous call that the goal counted. He stated that the goal had not crossed the line, and thus should not count. Then, in a surprising move, the first half was played for 15 minutes and 20 seconds, instead of the usual time (15 or 20 minutes?).
The third and final Berlin Championships were played on natural ice, at Lake Lietzensee in Charlottenburg. Berliner FC Preussen retained the title from the previous year, again defeating Berliner SC in the final, this time by a score of 3-1.
